Chromotherapy or Colour therapy or Color therapy, if you prefer the American spelling,
uses electromagnetic radiation of the visual spectrum of colours to cure diseases.
The human eye can see wavelengths roughly between 380 and 780 nm. This small segment is called the visible spectrum or visible light. Visible light can be broken down into numerous electromagnetic frequencies, and each frequency relates to a colour of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
Einstein´s E = mc2 explains that energy and matter are dual expressions of the same universal substance.
Every substance vibrates. When it vibrates at a low frequency it is matter, like the human body or any organ. When it vibrates at the speed of light or faster it is subtle matter or pure energy. In India they understand as well, Ayurvedic Medicine attributes the seven rainbow colours to the seven main chakras. In ancient Egypt they understood and constructed buildings penetrated by light and colours. Any ancient culture understood the healing power of colour and light.
The modern western cultures are beginning to understand.
