Sahaja Yoga differs from other types of yoga because it begins with self realization instead of this being the unobtainable dream or distant goal.
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi gave birth to Sahaja Yoga on 5th May 1970, as she was pondering on the many faceted problems confronting human beings, on a lonely beach of Nargol, India, a divine spiritual experience filled her whole being and suddenly she found an answer to her question.
She discovered a historical process of en-masse Self Realisation through which all of people could get this connection to their Spirit and thereby their inner transformation.
Sahaja = Spontaneous Yoga = Union with the Self
All Sahaja Yoga public programms around the world are entirely free of charge and always open to the public. As Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi says: "Truth cannot be sold, it cannot be purchased, it is just to be experienced and enjoyed".
